The 2027 Toyota Sequoia price starts at $69,900, and the smartest way to spend it is the cheapest trim with the newest option. Toyota announced the refreshed full-size SUV on Nov. 4, 2026, and the headline add is a $3,500 Trailhunter package for the base SR5. If you want a Sequoia that goes off the pavement, that package makes the $85,925 TRD Pro a hard sell.

Quick answer: The 2027 Toyota Sequoia starts at $69,900 for the SR5 and tops out at $87,900 for the Capstone, before a $2,195 destination charge. Every trim uses the 437-hp i-Force Max hybrid V6. The new Trailhunter package costs $3,500 on the SR5 and adds Old Man Emu suspension, a skid plate and all-terrain tires.

How much is the 2027 Toyota Sequoia by trim?

Toyota’s 2027 Sequoia press release confirms only the $69,900 starting MSRP. The full trim ladder comes from Kelley Blue Book’s Nov. 4 pricing report, which cites Toyota.com:

  • SR5: $69,900 ($72,095 with destination)
  • SR5 with Trailhunter package: $73,400 ($75,595 with destination)
  • Limited: $75,500 ($77,695)
  • Platinum: $83,400 ($85,595)
  • 1794 Edition: $84,400 ($86,595)
  • TRD Pro: $85,925 ($88,120)
  • Capstone: $87,900 ($90,095)

That’s an $18,000 spread from SR5 to Capstone, and none of it buys more power. Every Sequoia gets the same 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid rated at 437 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque. You’re paying for leather, wheels, suspension and badges.

Is the Trailhunter package worth $3,500?

Yes, if you’ll use it. The package bolts Old Man Emu suspension, an underbody skid plate, front recovery hooks and Michelin LTX Trail tires onto the SR5, plus bronze wheels and its own badging. Toyota lists Crawl Control, Multi-Terrain Select and a locking rear differential as part of the Trailhunter setup.

Now look at the gap. A Trailhunter costs $73,400. A TRD Pro costs $85,925. That’s $12,525 more for the TRD Pro, whose main 2027 upgrade is Fox QS3 adjustable shocks tuned for high-speed desert running. For fire roads, beach access and a campsite at the end of a rutted two-track, the Trailhunter covers what most owners actually do. The TRD Pro earns its price only if you drive fast over rough ground.

Here’s the trap. The Trailhunter is an SR5 package, so you give up the Limited’s SofTex seats with heated and ventilated fronts. If your Sequoia spends 50 weeks a year on school runs in Phoenix or Houston, a Limited at $75,500 might suit you better than a lifted SR5 at $73,400. All-terrain tires also add road noise you’ll hear every day.

2027 Toyota Sequoia price vs Tahoe and Expedition

The Sequoia isn’t the cheap entry into this class. Kelley Blue Book lists the 2027 Chevrolet Tahoe LS at $63,995, which is $5,905 below the Sequoia SR5. Ford’s 2027 Expedition Active starts at $63,920 with rear-wheel drive and $66,920 with 4×4, according to AutoFinder’s 2027 Expedition pricing page. For the trim history, see our breakdown of what changed on the Ford Expedition.

What the extra money buys is the hybrid. The Expedition’s 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 makes 400 hp, so the Sequoia gives you 37 more horsepower and hybrid torque from a stop as standard on every trim. That’s our read of the spec sheets, not a fuel economy claim: Toyota hasn’t published 2027 EPA figures in its release, so check the window sticker before you assume big savings. If you’re also cross-shopping inside Toyota’s showroom, our Sequoia vs Grand Highlander vs Land Cruiser size comparison shows where each one fits.

How much can the 2027 Sequoia tow?

Toyota’s release puts maximum towing at 9,120 pounds. Kelley Blue Book’s report lists 9,520 pounds. We’re going with Toyota’s own number until the automaker’s spec sheet says otherwise, and you should confirm the rating for the exact trim on the door-jamb sticker before you hitch a camper.

The bigger towing news is software. Automated Trailer Detection uses the rear radar and camera to measure a trailer and load it into the Trailer Garage menu, which now lives on the standard 14-inch touchscreen instead of the gauge cluster. Trailer Blind Spot Monitor stretches the warning zone to the trailer’s length, and the revised Trailer Backup Guide adds semi-automated steering with jackknife detection. If you’ve ever backed a 26-foot travel trailer into a tight campsite with a spotter yelling, you know which of those matters most.

What else is new for 2027?

The front end gets a sharper bumper with rectangular fog lights and trim-specific grilles. Inside, a 12.3-inch digital gauge display is standard, along with a built-in dash cam that saves 20-second clips. Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 is standard, and a new Advanced Rear Seat Reminder uses headliner-mounted radar to detect movement in the second and third rows after you lock up.

Toyota says the refreshed Sequoia should reach dealers in the fall of 2026, so early inventory is landing now. Prices are current as of Nov. 4, 2026, and can change. If a dealer adds a markup on an early Trailhunter, ask for MSRP in writing; our Toyota dealer markup guide covers how to push back.

2027 Sequoia FAQ

How much is the 2027 Toyota Sequoia?

The 2027 Toyota Sequoia starts at $69,900 for the SR5, or $72,095 with the $2,195 destination charge. The Limited costs $75,500, the Platinum $83,400, the 1794 Edition $84,400, the TRD Pro $85,925 and the Capstone $87,900. The new Trailhunter package adds $3,500 to an SR5. Prices were current as of Nov. 4, 2026.

Is the 2027 Toyota Sequoia a hybrid?

Yes. Every 2027 Sequoia uses Toyota’s i-Force Max hybrid, which pairs a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor generator. It makes 437 net horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. There’s no non-hybrid engine option, so you get the same powertrain whether you buy the $69,900 SR5 or the $87,900 Capstone.

When does the 2027 Toyota Sequoia come out?

Toyota said in its Nov. 4, 2026 announcement that the refreshed Sequoia is expected to arrive at dealerships in the fall of 2026. That means early inventory should be reaching lots now. Trailhunter-equipped SR5 models may be scarce at first, so ask your dealer about allocation and get the MSRP in writing before you sign.

The 2027 Toyota Sequoia price math lands on one number: $75,595 with destination, before tax and fees, for an SR5 Trailhunter, which gets you the same 437-hp hybrid as the $90,095 Capstone and most of the trail hardware of a TRD Pro for $12,525 less.
