2027 Mazda3 Price Starts at $24,750, AWD Now Under $30,000

Mazda’s all-wheel-drive hatchback just dropped under $30,000. The 2027 Mazda3 price list Mazda released on November 3, 2026 starts at $24,750 for the 2.5 S sedan, and the AWD 2.5 S Preferred hatchback now costs $29,990 before the $1,315 destination charge. That hatchback is the one to buy, and the rest of the lineup mostly explains why.

The manual survives too, but it moved up the ladder. You’ll find it only on the 2.5 S Premium Plus hatchback at $31,950, so the stick is now a top-trim decision rather than a bargain.

Quick answer: The 2027 Mazda3 starts at $24,750 for the 2.5 S sedan and $27,040 for the cheapest hatchback, plus a $1,315 destination charge. All-wheel drive begins at $29,990 on the 2.5 S Preferred hatchback. The 250-hp Turbo Premium Plus costs $37,040 as a sedan and $38,190 as a hatchback.

What does the 2027 Mazda3 cost by trim?

These are the MSRPs from Mazda’s 2027 Mazda3 pricing release. None include the $1,315 destination charge ($1,360 in Alaska), and dealers set the final price.

  • 2.5 S sedan, FWD: $24,750
  • 2.5 S Select Sport: $25,740 sedan, $27,040 hatchback
  • 2.5 S Preferred FWD: $27,490 sedan, $28,040 hatchback
  • 2.5 S Preferred AWD hatchback: $29,990
  • 2.5 S Premium AWD sedan: $30,415
  • 2.5 S Premium Plus hatchback: $31,950 with the manual (FWD), $33,350 with the automatic (AWD)
  • 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus AWD: $37,040 sedan, $38,190 hatchback

Five premium colors, Soul Red Crystal Metallic among them, add $595. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard from the Select Sport up, so the base 2.5 S sedan is the only trim that skips them.

Why the $29,990 AWD hatchback is the 2027 Mazda3 to buy

The Preferred hatchback got cheaper while almost everything around it went up. CarBuzz’s November 3, 2026 comparison puts the FWD Preferred hatch $600 below last year, while the base sedan rose $100 and the Select Sport hatch $200. Preferred also adds a Qi wireless charger, and AWD on that same hatch costs $1,950 more than FWD.

Here’s the trap. On the sedan, Mazda doesn’t offer AWD on the Preferred trim, so you have to step up to the $30,415 Premium. That’s $425 more than the AWD hatchback with the same 186-hp, 186-lb-ft engine and the same six-speed automatic. If you live where winter means unplowed side streets, our list of AWD cars that handle snow by price puts that $29,990 figure in context.

Is the manual Mazda3 still worth it?

Only if you’d pay for the loaded trim anyway. The base hatchback and the Carbon Edition are gone for 2027, and the manual now lives on the Premium Plus hatch, which CarBuzz says replaces the old Premium at $300 more. Delivered, that’s $33,265 for the cheapest stick-shift Mazda3.

You do get real equipment for it: a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a heated steering wheel, a windshield head-up display and adaptive front lighting. The mistake people make is assuming the manual is the cheap way in. It’s $1,960 more than the AWD Preferred automatic and gives up all-wheel drive. Turbo buyers: read the fuel-grade fine print

Mazda rates the 2.5 Turbo at 250 hp and 320 lb-ft on 93-octane fuel. On 87 octane, the figures fall to 227 hp and 310 lb-ft. That happens because the engine computer pulls ignition timing when it senses lower-octane fuel, which protects the engine and costs you 23 hp.

Torque barely moves, so around town you won’t feel much difference. On a highway merge you will. The Turbo also adds a 360-degree view monitor, rear parking sensors, Rear Cross Traffic Braking and Mazda’s Cruising and Traffic Support, which explains part of the $8,200 gap between the Turbo hatchback and the AWD Preferred hatch.

How the 2027 Mazda3 price compares with the Civic and Corolla

On paper, the Mazda3 is the cheaper horsepower. The 2027 Honda Civic LX sedan lists at $24,995 plus $1,295 destination, according to AutoGuide’s October 8, 2026 report, and Honda’s own 2027 comparison sheet rates the Civic sedan at 150 hp. Delivered, the Mazda3 2.5 S sedan is $225 cheaper and makes 36 more horsepower. That works out to roughly $133 of MSRP per horsepower for the Mazda against about $167 for the Honda.

The Toyota Corolla hatchback is the cheaper hatch. Cars.com’s July 14, 2026 report lists the 169-hp SE at $26,075 with destination, $2,280 below the cheapest Mazda3 hatchback delivered, but Toyota sells the Corolla hatch with front-wheel drive only. The Civic hatchback starts at $28,195 in the Sport trim. If you’re cross-shopping, our Toyota Corolla LE review covers what the Toyota does better day to day.

What Mazda hasn’t told you yet

Mazda’s release doesn’t list EPA fuel economy for 2027 or an on-sale date, so treat those as open questions until the window stickers appear. The in-body photo comes from Mazda’s US press gallery, which shows the current-generation car the 2027 model carries over.

Prices can also change during the model year, and dealer markups or discounts sit on top of MSRP. Our 2027 Mazda CX-5 price breakdown shows how Mazda has been moving money between trims on the CX-5.

Here’s the number that matters. The 2027 Mazda3 price for an all-wheel-drive hatchback with wireless phone charging is $29,990, and you’d pay $425 more for an AWD sedan with the same 186-hp engine. Shop the hatch.
